    Re: VT Redemption

SOS is the biggest bunch of horseshat a stat boy could come up with. VT beats UVA who beat noone worth a damn and then they get tons of SOS points because Uconn had a good record and beat noone worth a damn. Clearly UT's schedule was much tougher than VT's. Aside from Clemson, BC hasnt beaten anyone this year. VT played one really good team and lost miserably. WVU should be the perfect setup for them too, another paper tiger undeserving of a new years day bowl game. West Virginia is another great example of SOS along with Lousivlle and Rutgers last year. Their SOS's were pretty high and none of the 3 played anyone decent at all. They could put Cincy in the Orange Bowl and it would be just as respectable.

then, SOS is relative to which teams any one person thinks is good or not

No Im just telling you that strength of schedule can be extremely misleading. I support the ACC but they may be the worst conference in America. Its really hard to say, thats just an opinion. Its hard to say there are any really good teams left at this point in the year. I wont put VT down for an Orange Bowl bid, its not a bad bowl to go to at all, but at the same time dont act like they had to dodge land mines in Vietnam to get there either. They should have never lost to BC the first time.

    Re: VT Redemption

i'm not advocating VT for the national title game, i don't think this was a national championship caliber team, but who really was this year??!?...im only refuting the point that ppl say VT's schedule was easy

if we go to the orange bowl and not the championship game, then i'm ok...i don't have to sell my tickets to the orange bowl
